Baltic Museums: Love IT

Lithuanian Sea Museum together with partner museums, IT specialists and research institutions from Poland, Denmark, Sweden and Germany, cooperate in the project ‘Baltic Museums: Love IT!’ to create innovative gamified IT-enabled tools for the visitors of natural and cultural heritage institutions. The three-year project is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund, Interreg South Baltic Programme. The project aims at developing multilingual tours to be run on the own devices of the visitors (e.g. smartphones) when visiting aquaria,  museums, and other edutaining institutions. Addressing the trend of gamification, the tours will use game elements to make the visitors’ experience more involving or even extend a single visit into long-term relationship. SUCCESSFUL PSYCHOSOCIAL AND SENSORY REHABILITATION FOR CHILDREN AND ADULTS SUFFERING FROM MENTAL AND BEHAVIORAL DISORDERS (SUPER) (Nr. LLI-336)

Improvement of the accessibility and effectiveness of the psychosocial and sensory integration rehabilitation in the Lithuanian and Latvian cross-border area, offering new solutions for both countries. 
A new and innovative sensory integration rehabilitation methodology has been developed for children and adults suffering from mental and behavioural disorders in addition to innovative sensory integration rooms installed. 
Partners: Lithuanian Sea Museum, Palanga Health Care Centre, Latvian Social Care Centre “Kurzeme”, Liepaja Hospital “Priejūras“. 
2014–2020 Interreg V-A Latvia-Lithuania Programme. Overall Budget – 651 176,32 EUR, ERDF contribution – 553 499,87 EUR. Lithuanian Sea Museum budget - 113 051,87 EUR.  
 

Breaking the Barriers in Children Rehabilitation: from Correction towards Inclusive Collaboration

Lithuanian Sea Museum together with Klaipeda University implement a cooperation project, aiming at improving the accessibility of social, medical and educational services for families rising children with psychomotor problems. The project will contribute to implementation of the jointly elaborated methodology of early diagnostics and innovative bio-psycho-social rehabilitation for children with psychomotor problems. Based on experience and knowledge of the partners, research laboratories of early diagnostic equipped with special tools and methodology were established in the Dolphin Assisted Therapy Center of the Lithuanian Sea Museum.
The share of the EU funding allocated to the Lithuanian Sea Museum within the project is 142 412,40 EUR.

Adaptation of Maritime Heritage for the Promotion of Culture, Cultural Networking with the Purpose of Tourism Development

Promoting cultural tourism in the region, the Lithuanian Sea Museum undertook the project aiming at  restoring and museifying a fishing trawler SRT-3216 Dubingiai, which is the largest exhibit of the Museum. In addition, an educational playground for young museum visitors will be established by the ethnographic fisherman‘s farmstead.

! Cross-border transmission !

Contributing to the development of cultural tourism in the region, the Lithuanian Sea Museum undertook a project, which implemented the following activities: restoration of premises of the historic Nerija Fort, upgrade of infrastructure, creation of cultural tourism routes.
